Anastasio23! A Line 6 Helix Floor, Rack & Helix LT preset for Trey Anastasio’s 2023 guitar tone.
Designed around Trey’s 2023 rig with the Trainwreck Express amp and his smaller pedalboard, this preset has a warm clean channel just on the edge of breakup and an additional switch, CRUNCH, emulating the sound of pushing the tubes into more warm saturation. New to this preset is a really warm and balanced sounding Leslie that moves from slow to fast with the expression pedal. The subtle delay, PUSS #1, adds a nice texture and fullness to the guitar and is great for lead.
The effects in these presets contain the usual suspects: Whammy, Wah, Tubescreamer #1, Tubescreamer #2, Ross Compressor, Nux Univibe, SupaPuss #1, SupaPuss #2, Reverse Delay, Reverb, Leslie, Tremolo Chop & Boomerang Looper. The WAH & LOOPER blocks do not have a switch assigned to them as I didn’t have enough switches available, but still there for your customization. The Tremolo Chop is activated/bypassed thru the expression pedal toe switch with the expression pedal controlling the rate.
8 Snapshots toggle between CLEAN / CRUNCH channels and 4 different whammy settings: WH 50% (octave down and up 50% mix), WH +12 (octave up), -12 (octave down), +24 (2 octaves up), YEM VERB (big reverb with long decay to create the spacey ambient sound in YEM), and YEM NOTE (super lead to get that infinite sustain).
I spent a lot of time dialing these amps and effects in, trying them out at several live shows with my bands, Touch of Trey (phish & dead), A Live One (phish) & HeartByrne (talking heads). Testing them at home with several different cabinets, monitors and headphones, and then really dialing them in when pushing them at very loud live venue levels. I believe they’re balanced very well and sound really good in the mix!
